OKARA: Former president Pervez Musharraf has urged people to forge unity in their ranks to strengthen democracy and Pakistan.

The message was conveyed by All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) district president Kamran Khan Lodhi in a meeting at a local hotel. He had convened the meting on the call of Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif. Pervez Musharraf in his message said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah materialised the dream of separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent. The former president said people were facing danger to their freedom and democracy. Nation will have to fight price hike, poverty, hunger and deprivation by promoting truthfulness, justice and freedom for every individual, he said and urged people of Pakistan to join APML for rebuilding Pakistan. The meeting was attended by Wajid Ali, Sheikh Ijaz Nadeem, Dr Asif Bhatti, Malik Muhammad Yar Wattoo and others.

Girl abducted, raped for several days

OKARA: A girl was abducted and later raped for several days at 30/4L village.

Accused Maqsoodan Bibi and Jallan Bibi went to the house of Rashid Ahmad and took his daughter ‘A’ for some work. Later, the accused women took her to some unknown place where accused Muhammad Jamil raped her for several days which also made her pregnant. On Wednesday, the girl got a chance and she escaped from the accused custody and reached her home. Police have registered a case.

VALUABLES LOOTED: A police constable and another man were looted by five dacoits near 27/2L village on Wednesday.

Constable Ghulam Fareed of Sadar police and another man were patrolling when the dacoits intercepted them and snatched their bike and weapons from them. Sadar police have registered a case.
