ISLAMABAD, July 27 (APP): State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Ali Shah Bhukhari on Tuesday said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not support former dictator Pervez Musharraf if he decided to participate in national politics.Talking to a private TV channel, he said Musharraf did not have any more role in country’s politics and added that the former dictator had committed many mistakes during his tenure . The minister said that it was the leadership of the Peoples Party that had ousted Pervez Musharraf and added no dictator had ever dared enter politics after he quit the office.
Replying to a question about extending the tenure of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani,
The minister said this was done on the basis of leadership qualities of the general and his role in war against terror.
Sumsam Ali Bhukhari said it was well known that General Kayani had played a vital role in war against terrorism.
He said that that the Pakistan People’s Party had the tradition of always taking decisions in the larger interest of the country.
He said that the People’s Party was a symbol of the Federation and it was working for welfare of the masses.
