ISLAMABAD: A ceremony was held in Islamabad to formally launch All Pakistan Muslim League, proposed by Gen. (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf.

Addressing the ceremony, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif spokesman of former president Pervez Musharraf claimed that All Pakistan Muslim League is the name of the latter’s party. An application has already been submitted to the concerned authority for registration of the party’s name, he added.

“If anyone else is also interested in this name, he is most welcome to join us,”

Nation looking towards PML-N: Mian Nawaz Sharif

CHAKWAL: PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has said the whole country is looking towards PML-N adding PML-N will be transformed into a revolutionary and popular party. Mian Nawaz Sharif said this while talking to PML-N delegation led by renowned Naat Khawan Abdul Razzaq Jami which called on him at Raiwind Saturday. Nawaz Sharif underlined party would be reorganized at village and union council level and the workers who had rendered sacrifices would be taken forward so that foundation for a political and popular revolution could be laid down in the country.

PML-N by awarding ticket to a worker in NA-61 Chakwal-2 had proved that workers were the assets of the party, he maintained. This was on the record that big Khan, chaudhrys, maliks and sardars had always left the party in the hour of trial, he added. Honor will be given to the party workers in future too who stood by party during Musharraf regime and those who had sacrificed for the party by serving jail terms; he said adding these workers were in fact asset of the party. Musharraf to unveil his party manifesto in September

Former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf will unveil the manifesto of his new party and announce the date of his return to Pakistan in September, one of his aides has said.

Chaudhry Shahbaz Husain, chief coordinator of the All Pakistan Muslim League set up by Musharraf, said the former president would stage his comeback before the next general election, irrespective of whether they are held "mid-term" or "end-term".

The APML has been in touch with PML-Q leaders for the past three months for a possible unification and Husain claim during a news conference in Lahore yesterday that both factions would soon assemble on the same platform.

Husain said that the APML's leaders would call on PML-Functional chief Pir Pagaro, leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and other political parties in Sindh this month.

He said, if invited, the APML could join the alliance recently formed by three Muslim League factions.

Musharraf's aides foresee no future for his party

LAHORE – Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s efforts to fulfil his political ambitions are dimming, as majority of his former colleagues do not foresee any political role of Musharraf in future, while they also oppose contacts of their partymen with him.
However, some of them support him, visualising a vacuum in political sphere of the country, TheNation has learnt.

Musharraf in a bid to accomplish his political plans met with his former colleagues in Dubai and asked them to muster support for him by persuading his old colleagues back home to assemble under one umbrella.

However, many of his old colleagues in PML-Q, PML-Q (like-minded group) and other sidelined

Muslim Leaguers not only opposed the contacts of their partymen with Musharraf but also disowned their meetings in Dubai by saying they would seek an explanation from all those who saw Musharraf in Dubai, informed insiders in the stated factions of Leagues quoting senior party leaders.

Insiders in Musharraf’s camp told this scribe from Dubai on Tuesday that former president met with several politicians belonging to PML-Q (like-minded group) and PML-Q including Raza Hayat Hiraj, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Ameer Muqam, Ch Shahbaz, Ishaq Khakwani, Raees Munir Ahmed, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Lala Nisar Khan, Syed Charag-ud-Din, Hamid Nasir Chattha and Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri, Dr Sher Afgan Niazi, Asjad Malhi, Maj-Gen (r) Rashid Qureshi and Dr Amjad Hussain besides former secretary election commission Kunwar Dilshad.
Musharraf, it is stated also had talked to Pir of Pagaro on telephone to discuss the possibilities of his role in politics.

Without divulging the names, the insiders claimed that some key figures of two major parties also called on Musharraf in Dubai. Musharraf has nominated Ch Shahbaz as chief coordinator, Pakistan of his party ‘All Pakistan Muslim League’ besides constituting a five-member delegation comprising Dr Sher Afgan Niazi, Ch Shahbaz, Barrister Muhammad Saif, Dr Amjad and Fawad Chaudary who would meet Pir of Pagaro by the end of this month to discuss the political future of Musharraf in the backdrop of former president’s conversation with Pir of Pagaro, revealed the insiders.

Insiders claimed that Hamid Nasir Chattha, Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri and Pir of Pagaro told Musharraf that they foresee his role in country’s politics in the times to come.
