Arjun Kapoor was savaged at the AIB Knockout for having failed class 12, but he isn’t the only Bollywood celebrity who doesn’t have an academic accomplishment to boast of..
Aamir Khan – He might come across as the most intelligent person in Bollywood, but let me tell you that Aamir, who studied HSC from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai barely attended classes. And since he was never interested in studies, he didn’t even try to go to a college and straight away tried his luck in showbiz. And well as we all know he definitely is the most shining star in tinsel town now with some of the all time biggest movies to his name.
Akshay Kumar – The Baby actor studied at Don Bosco and at Guru Nanak Khalsa College at King’s Circle in Mumbai, but he was never too much into studies for he was more active in sports. He dropped out of college and went to Bangkok to study martial arts. And his skills in martial arts certainly helped him to make it big in Bollywood.
And now the actresses. There are many.
Deepika Padukone – After schooling at Sophia High School in Bangalore, Deepika joined Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. But she gave up studies for modelling and acting. She enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University’s Bachelor of Arts course in Sociology but never completed it.
Bipasha Basu - Bipasha did her schooling from Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir in Kolkata. She studied commerce at Bhawanipur Education Society College. Chartered accountancy was next on the agenda but winning a beauty pageant put a halt on further studies.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Aishwarya studied at Arya Vidya Mandir High School in Mumbai, and then went to Jai Hind college for a year. She switched to Raheja College to study Architecture, but left it midway to pursue a career in modelling.
Kareena Kapoor - For Kareena, school was Jamnabai Narsee in Mumbai, then Welham in Dehradun. Kareena studied commerce for two years at Mithibai College in Mumbai. She also registered for a three-month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard University in the United States. After a year at the Government Law College in Mumbai, she realised Bollywood was her calling.
Kangana Ranaut - Kangana did her schooling in Himachal Pradesh. Science was her subject since she wanted to become a doctor. She never made it to medical school. Instead, she moved to Delhi and joined a theatre group called Ashmita.
Katrina Kaif - Katrina was born in Hong Kong. After her parents divorced, she moved to China and then Japan. She has lived in France, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Hawaii, and eventually her mother’s home country England. She lived in London for three years before moving to Mumbai. She started modelling when she was 14. Naturally, all that moving about left little time for any academic qualifications.
Alia Bhatt - . She completed her high school from Jamnabai Narsee School IBDP in May 2011. But she didn’t attend college, all thanks to that offer from Karan Johar for Student Of The Year.
Kajol - Kajol never completed school; she left St Joseph’s Convent in Panchgani, a hill station near Mumbai, and started her acting career with the film Bekhudi at the age of 17.
Karisma Kapoor - Karisma was no scholar either. She studied at the Cathedral and John Cannon School in Mumbai till the sixth standard.

Salman ka funda
| | |||
| Like his character in the film WANTED, Salman Khan has his own fundas in life. Be that about love, films or education. Salman Khan seems to have got all the answers. Recently, while promoting his film VEER, Salman Khan had a word of advice for kids who take extreme steps like thinking about suicide in case of poor academic performance. The funda of this Khan is simple. "Live life to the fullest because it`s a rare gift. Don`t panic if you underperform, you will always get a second chance." Talking at length about his poor academics, the moody Khan was feeling bad about the recent reports of kids committing suicide owing to parental and peer pressure. Salman`s BEING HUMAN is thinking of taking up such issues and spreading awareness to stop kids from taking such extreme steps. Salman, who was trying to put across the message of being VEER in real life had a special message for kids. The macho Khan wants all kids to take up challenges like his character in the film and not bow down to societal pressures. With Salman sharing his self belief with kids, let`s hope these fundas work equally for the young brigade as it has worked in the stars` personal life | |||
