Aamir Khan Top Ranking in Oversea Market
The Khan’s war has begun. The most
charismatic and admired actor Aamir khan topping the national and
international charts for his two much loved movies.
Aamir Khan PK, 3 Idiots
and Dhoom3 climbed to the top two slots, bringing SRK’s Happy New Year
and Chennai Express to number four and five, reported Daily News and
Analysis (DNA).
Aamir Khan has now replaced Shahrukh Khan
in the top five international Bollywood grossers list as his three hits
PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots climbed. Though Shahrukh Khan’s films dominate
local as well as international markets and earned a lot grosser but as
compare to Amir Khan, it’s comparatively less.
Not only that, Amir’s PK became the talk of the town
, many criticism been raised to the films a, the critics left no room
to in discouraging the content and script but the general public the
real deciders took the film to touch seventh sky.
Film trade analysts and critics also weighed in their comments on Aamir and Shahrukh’s films:
"There's a tough fight between Shah Rukh and Aamir in
the overseas territory. Besides star-power, it's also about the film
and its content. As of now, yes Aamir is having a dream run. But SRK is
also a huge pull. PK is highly accepted overseas and became the first
Hindi film to collect about INR340 crore at the domestic box-office. His
previous films Dhoom 3 (an established brand) and
Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots are also known for their sky-rocketing
business. Though Happy New Year did very well, it didn't match the kind
of numbers one has of an SRK film. It did lesser than Chennai Express. Aamir's Dhoom 3 and now PK have done put him in a great position."
Komal Nahta: The figures speak for themselves; "Out
of the top five grossers overseas, three are Aamir's movies. The
figures speak for themselves and Aamir's ranking in the overseas market.
I think like the audience in India, even the audience abroad
has started looking at Aamir's movies to be like an ISI mark. They
associate his movies with quality and novelty. They know that if it's an
Aamir Khanmovie it must be something good. That's why his movies are
doing so well."
Following are the figures reported by DNA:
3 Idiots: $27,000,000 (Approx INR1,676,295,000)
Dhoom 3: $27,969,454 (Approx INR1,736,483,550)
PK: $26,307,214 (Approx INR1,633,020,300)
Chennai Express: $18,155,736 (Approx INR1,127,017,310)
Happy New Year: $13,500,420 (Approx INR838,173,575)

Arjun Kapoor was savaged at the AIB Knockout for having failed class 12, but he isn’t the only Bollywood celebrity who doesn’t have an academic accomplishment to boast of..
Aamir Khan – He might come across as the most intelligent person in Bollywood, but let me tell you that Aamir, who studied HSC from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai barely attended classes. And since he was never interested in studies, he didn’t even try to go to a college and straight away tried his luck in showbiz. And well as we all know he definitely is the most shining star in tinsel town now with some of the all time biggest movies to his name.
Akshay Kumar – The Baby actor studied at Don Bosco and at Guru Nanak Khalsa College at King’s Circle in Mumbai, but he was never too much into studies for he was more active in sports. He dropped out of college and went to Bangkok to study martial arts. And his skills in martial arts certainly helped him to make it big in Bollywood.
And now the actresses. There are many.
Deepika Padukone – After schooling at Sophia High School in Bangalore, Deepika joined Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. But she gave up studies for modelling and acting. She enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University’s Bachelor of Arts course in Sociology but never completed it.
Bipasha Basu - Bipasha did her schooling from Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir in Kolkata. She studied commerce at Bhawanipur Education Society College. Chartered accountancy was next on the agenda but winning a beauty pageant put a halt on further studies.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Aishwarya studied at Arya Vidya Mandir High School in Mumbai, and then went to Jai Hind college for a year. She switched to Raheja College to study Architecture, but left it midway to pursue a career in modelling.
Kareena Kapoor - For Kareena, school was Jamnabai Narsee in Mumbai, then Welham in Dehradun. Kareena studied commerce for two years at Mithibai College in Mumbai. She also registered for a three-month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard University in the United States. After a year at the Government Law College in Mumbai, she realised Bollywood was her calling.
Kangana Ranaut - Kangana did her schooling in Himachal Pradesh. Science was her subject since she wanted to become a doctor. She never made it to medical school. Instead, she moved to Delhi and joined a theatre group called Ashmita.
Katrina Kaif - Katrina was born in Hong Kong. After her parents divorced, she moved to China and then Japan. She has lived in France, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Hawaii, and eventually her mother’s home country England. She lived in London for three years before moving to Mumbai. She started modelling when she was 14. Naturally, all that moving about left little time for any academic qualifications.
Alia Bhatt - . She completed her high school from Jamnabai Narsee School IBDP in May 2011. But she didn’t attend college, all thanks to that offer from Karan Johar for Student Of The Year.
Kajol - Kajol never completed school; she left St Joseph’s Convent in Panchgani, a hill station near Mumbai, and started her acting career with the film Bekhudi at the age of 17.
Karisma Kapoor - Karisma was no scholar either. She studied at the Cathedral and John Cannon School in Mumbai till the sixth standard.
